What a day, folks! I'm writing this post <\/em>With immense excitement, as if I were preparing to return to this magical place. We went in early April with the children during a 10-day trip through Normandy and Brittany \u2013 see more details at [link to website\/reference]. Detailed itinerary through Brittany, Normandy and Parc Asterix<\/a>\u2013 and the four of us had a blast! I'll try to summarize the main points for you here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Park<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Parc Ast\u00e9rix is about an hour from Paris. Many people compare the park to Disneyland Paris, but there is an important difference: getting there by public transport is a bit more difficult. In our case, this didn't make a difference because we had a rental car, coming from Normandy, and we were able to go straight to the park without having to enter Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever heard of Parc Ast\u00e9rix? Before your trip, it's definitely worth exploring the park's official website. There you'll find all the information about the attractions, shows, restaurants, and services available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We spent a good amount of time researching everything and put together a list of the attractions and shows we most wanted to see. This step made all the difference in making the most of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One important detail is to check the minimum height required for each ride. The park takes this rule very seriously and makes no exceptions, so it's best to avoid surprises and potential frustrations with the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another tip that helped a lot was to take a "virtual tour" of the park before visiting. That way, you'll already know where the main attractions, restaurants, and restrooms are located. It might seem like a small detail, but with children eager to play, the last thing you want is to waste time trying to understand the map on the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also recommend downloading the park's official app before your visit. It was through this app that we tracked queue wait times in real time, which helped us plan our itinerary and make the most of our day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding tickets, prices vary considerably depending on the time of year and the day of the week. We managed to get an excellent deal: during the week, children didn't pay admission. It was such a good saving that we even adjusted our travel itinerary to take advantage of the offer. Sometimes, a small change in planning can save you many extra euros to spend on future adventures!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We parked the car in the park's giant parking lot (paid at the entrance) and walked to the entrance. We didn't have to wait in any line to get in and were already excited about the visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Attractions <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We entered the park, saw the lines on the app, and went straight to the roller coaster. Toutatis<\/strong>, which is the fastest in France and therefore the one that was in our top 5 to visit. Since Julia couldn't go on, only Celo and Patrick went to the queue, and the two of us went on the ride next door, the Chez Gyrofolix.<\/strong> That was awful... I almost got sick from the rotating up and down motion, but thankfully she loved it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then went to the playground next door \u2013 the Sanglier D'or Playground<\/strong> \u2014because the boys hadn't left yet, and I took the opportunity to catch my breath there. Then we went to... La Petite Temp\u00eate<\/strong>, which was going faster than I would have liked, and they found us there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They both loved Toutatis, but Celo said it was too much for Patrick, who was 8 years old. On the way to our meeting, they met the druid and the bard and took pictures to record the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three of them went on the ride. Les Chaudrons Infernaux<\/strong>, the famous Brazilian cup, and I stood outside just watching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four of us went on the small roller coaster called SOS Tournevis<\/strong> And despite being a bit silly, we liked it quite a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We saw in the app that the toy Oziris <\/strong>There was no line \u2013 from what I understood, sometimes people get sick and they close the line and then reopen it \u2013 and Celo and Paddy went there, since J\u00falia couldn't go in. We took the opportunity to go on the water ride. La Descente du Ni<\/strong>l, which had almost no line, but because the ride was so short, we didn't enjoy it very much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We bought a kebab nearby and as we were leaving, a dance show started with the park's characters called Cleopatra's Offenders<\/strong>, It lasted about 7 minutes and we got to see it up close. Pure luck, because we hadn't planned anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the show ended, we went to eat hamburgers nearby \u2013 they were very tasty and there wasn't much of a line \u2013 and then we went for a walk in the... Gallic village.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We met other characters \u2013 the fishmonger's wife, the boss and his wife \u2013 and took more photos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We went to see the Gauls vs. Romans show (Gaulois vc Romains Le Match<\/strong>), which despite being 100% in French, has plenty of acrobatics and staging. The four of us loved it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We headed to one of the most anticipated attractions, a water ride, as it was getting hotter and we wanted to cool off. Its name was... The Pirates' Revenge<\/strong> And we left there soaking wet! It was SO much fun and we were left wanting more. We continued on, drenched, to other water toys, the Menhir Express<\/strong> and the Romus et Rapidus<\/strong>, We left them even wetter. While Ju wanted to go to... Caesar's Carousel<\/strong>, We stayed in the sun trying to dry off and even changed clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We went on the roller coaster. Pegase Express<\/strong>, It's really fast and goes backwards at the end, and everyone loved it except for me, Mom\u2026lol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three of them went on two more relaxing rides, the The Flight of Icare <\/strong>and the L'Hydre de Lerne<\/strong>, While I rested, I took photos and videos of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celo and Paddy went on the roller coasters. Discobelix <\/strong>and Tonnerre Zeus 2<\/strong>, ...which Ju couldn't go on, so I took her to a really quiet ride called... Les Petites Chaises Volantes<\/strong>, ...with chairs that flew and spun. She loved it, and since there was no line, she went there a thousand times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We met up and the kids and I went to see the parade, while Celo went to... Goudurix<\/strong>, ...the only roller coaster he couldn't go on in the whole park. Celo wasn't exactly enamored with it either...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parade was lovely, with lots of characters dancing, singing, and waving to us. We loved it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We strolled around a bit more and Juju wanted to go on the Gyroflix again, but this time I stayed outside watching the three of them spinning around like crazy inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celo and Paddy went to La Tour de Numerobis<\/strong>, ...which is 40 meters high and has several chairs suspended by chains. Luckily, I didn't stay watching them fly by and went with Juju on the bumper cars, which are only for children, called... Les Petits Chars Tamponneurs<\/strong>. Then we went to Hydroflix together, and afterwards she wanted to go alone to... Lavomatix.<\/strong> We went on the ride next door with the flying bicycles, the Aerodynamix<\/strong>, ...and then we found the boys on the playground equipment. Caesar's Spies<\/strong>, which is very calm and involves a stroll through the park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, she went on the silly little train right next to it, the Le Petit Train<\/strong>, And then she and Paddy wanted to run off so they could go on the bumper cars together again. They were lucky enough to be the last ones to get on before the ride closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there, we went to the little shops so everyone could buy a souvenir for themselves and one for each of their best friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stopped at KFC and went home for dinner and bed. We were exhausted, but it was worth every second. Thank you, God!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
