This post is the most special of these almost 3 years of blog, because it was on this day and on this stone in Norway that Celo made the most perfect marriage proposal for me. <3
We both always think outside the box and want different things than most couples we know, so being proposed to in a totally unusual and unique place like Preikestolen makes me sure that he knows me like no one else and really cares about all the crazy ideas I have. I confess that I never imagined that he would come up with something so perfect (sorry, honey!) and I was pissed off for not suspecting anything, but today I can say that I am very happy and every day more in love with this incredible man who is by my side. 🙂
Now let’s get to the details of this awesome stone…
THE Preikestolen (or Pulpit Rock, in English) is 604 meters above sea level Lysefjorden and has a plateau measuring 25 meters x 25 meters. They say that around 200 thousand people do the trail every year and, judging by the amount of people we saw there, that number seems small…lol. Each section is 3.8 km long and the difference in altitude between the starting and ending points is 330 meters. You can do it without a guide, because it is well signposted and it is free! They say it can be done in 4 hours (round trip), but we spent the whole afternoon there, enjoying the view. We recommend setting aside a lot of time for it, because it really is so beautiful, especially on a sunny day. 🙂 We went by car and parked in a huge parking lot that cost 100 Norwegian kroner. They even put up a map of the trail there, which is the northern route for everyone. Enough blah blah blah, let's get to the photos, shall we?
We left there exhausted and even thought about sleeping in an apartment inside the camping that is nearby, but there were none available. We looked for hostels nearby with private rooms (we wanted to cook our own pasta!) on the Booking and we found the Red-haired women in the woods, which cost 895 Norwegian kroner (96 euros), including breakfast. We got a room just for the two of us, with a view of the lake, and we even managed to cook our engagement dinner! Now that's romance <3
