9 days in the Vale do Lobo and Ferragudo regions, in the Algarve

Index

We spent 9 days in the Algarve this summer, 4 days in a resort in Vale do Lobo and the other 4 days in a rented house with the family. We went on Saturday 21/8 straight to our hotel, the Vale do Lobo Resort (grade 8.4) and we stayed there until Wednesday, August 25th. Then we went to Lucas House (rating 4.76 out of 5) in Ferragudo and we only returned on Sunday, 29th, to Cascais.

Wolf Valley

We chose this one resort because we went to New Year's Eve Quinta do Lago (read about our experience there here) and we love the QL and Vale do Lobo region with its luxurious homes and empty, tree-lined streets. I searched on Booking for accommodations with ratings higher than 8, swimming pools and full kitchens, and this hotel seemed very interesting.

Ferragudo

Regarding accommodation in Ferragudo, this was not our first choice. We had found a house with a private pool that was a little more expensive, but we ended up canceling and changing to this one because of the other guests. I regretted it in the end, because I felt trapped in a cramped backyard and I also saw my son quickly get bored in the inflatable pool.

During these 9 days, we spent our days alternating between the beach, the pool, car rides and the house. We didn't visit any attractions in the Algarve that could involve crowds, because we are still quite wary of Covid-19 and Ju is still so young. We ended up eating a few meals in restaurants, always opting for tables on the balconies, but honestly none of them changed my life. The food and service were reasonable and that stress basics of baby who ALWAYS woke up to nurse when my food arrived. It's part of the package going out with a baby, right? 🙂
