Following the script of our one week trip to Malta, today we went to see Mosta Rotunda, Popeye Village, the Red Tower and enjoyed the beach in Gahdira Bay before heading to the island of Gozo.

We had our last breakfast at the hotel 115 The Strand Hotel by NEU Collective and we did the checkout. Today was the day we left the main island of Malta and went to the island of Gozo.
We took advantage of the day to explore a little more of the country's largest island and first went to see an impressive place called Mosta Rotunda/Dome.
Mosta Roundabout
This church has the third largest unsupported dome in the world, 37 meters in diameter. During World War II, a bomb went through the dome but fortunately did not detonate.
We parked the car nearby, bought tickets to see it, and went straight up the stairs to see it up close. The stairs were difficult, because it was quite hot, but we managed it!
Then we went down to the church, took a leisurely stroll, and went to the shelters used by the population during the war, right in front of the church entrance. Down there are several objects used, many tunnels, it's interesting. The entrance to do all this cost 5 euros. You can read more information here.
Popeye Village from above
We left there, drove for 10 minutes and the kids fell asleep in the car. We had planned to take them on Malta National Aquarium, but we changed the script and went to see the Popeye Village. We stopped at a viewpoint overlooking the park, we saw it and as we weren't crazy about it, we thought it best not to wake the children.
The Red Tower
We continued driving and passed in front of Red Tower, which is very close to the beach where I had arranged to meet my brother and his boyfriend. It was closed to visitors, so we just walked past.
Having lunch in Ghadira Bay
We then went to the restaurant where my brother managed to reserve a table with a sea view. We parked the car very close to the beach and walked to the restaurant. Amami. Well presented, tasty Asian food, pleasant atmosphere, empty, with a sea view. A find! We ate really well and went to the beach right after.
Enjoying the beach at Ghadira Bay
We walked less than 5 minutes from the restaurant to the beach, which was perfect. We rented chairs and umbrellas right at the entrance, bought floats and water guns for the little ones, and spent a few hours enjoying the clear, wave-free water. It's a paradise for those with small children. Everyone loved it!
Ferryboat to Gozo
When we got tired of the beach, we walked to the car and crossed ferryboat to the island of Gozo. I had already read in the guide I bought that we didn't need to buy tickets on the way there, only on the way back, so it was super easy to board.
We found the trip very pleasant, with views of the 3 islands, Malta, Gozo and Comino. The children played a lot on the empty benches outside and we were able to enjoy the crossing. I recommend it!
Our hotel in Gozo
After a half hour crossing, we arrived on the island of Gozo. We drove for about 10 minutes and arrived at our super cute hotel, the Villa Dei Venti.
I was impressed with the size of our room. Compared to the room at the previous hotel, this one was a palace! I loved the decor and the fact that they left fresh towels for every day we stayed there. I know it’s silly, but I felt relieved knowing that I would be drying myself every day with clean, dry towels… lol.
We went straight to the jacuzzi in my brother's room and then packed our things in the room and got ready for dinner. Since the hotel has a restaurant inside, we thought it would be easier to eat there, and we were pleasantly surprised by the dishes we ordered.
A day full of activities and different environments, ending with a flourish!
