We decided to spend New Year's Eve 2018/2019 in Teresópolis with Celo's mother and grandfather, so we went up the mountains on Saturday, 12/29, and returned on Wednesday, 1/2.
Our Hosting
We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches and enjoy the pool and nature in a comfortable hotel without paying a fortune, so when Terê Park Inn appeared as an option on Booking, we were very excited!
The inn has a super pleasant atmosphere, with lots of greenery around, and has a very, very, very family atmosphere, which was exactly what we were looking for, since we had our baby with us who was only 10 months old.
It's great for those with children, because it has a swimming pool, a games room, farm animals to feed, wonderful macaws that you can hold (!!!), a padded room for babies with lots of toys and also a kitchen with equipment for you to prepare food for the babies/children and even for yourself, if you want.
There is no restaurant or bar at the inn, which we thought would be a great idea, but you can bring your cooler and shopping and have fun too.
Our routine
Our days started with a great breakfast at the guesthouse (how I missed it!), relaxing by the pool while Paddy took his morning nap, playing in the padded baby room or visiting the animals.
Then we would get ready to go out for lunch/dinner and return to rest at the inn and have a snack before going to sleep. A routine with as little movement as possible, because we had a baby and a grandfather with mobility difficulties too.
Restaurants
We had lunch/dinner at 3 restaurants that deserve to be mentioned here, namely Basil, Mrs. Irene and Burrata.
The first is a traditional pizza restaurant, the second is absolutely perfect Russian food (you have to call to reserve and payment is in cash – I've already talked about it here on the blog!) and the last one was a delightful surprise, as it had just opened and we found everything spectacular (service, atmosphere and food, of course). I recommend all 3 and intend to return to them soon!
