We took advantage of the fact that our Czech friends came to visit us in July 2023 and went to visit Praia de Ribeira D´Ilhas, which is located just north of Ericeira and is a real find in Portugal. A friend who is married to a surfer had recommended it to us, so we thought it would be perfect to explore with them and it was! 🙂

We drove for 45 minutes to this beach and when we saw the main parking lot full, we were immediately discouraged. Luckily, they had made a secondary parking lot behind and we were able to park our cars there without any stress.

We passed by the well-appointed Ribeira D'Ilhas restaurant and went straight to the beach. The sea was choppy with considerable waves and it was also very windy, but it was wonderful to be there with our loved ones. The children had a great time, we adults even managed to rest, and when we started to get hungry, we went to the restaurant to see if we could reserve a table.

We managed to reserve one inside, which wasn't ideal for us as we wanted to sit on the balcony, but we thought it best not to have to wait too long as the children would start complaining about hunger at any moment.

We sat inside – protected from the wind, at least – and ordered several dishes for the 8 of us. The service left a little to be desired, but the food was very good and well served. We loved everything and will definitely be back one day!

After the meal, the children played a little outside the restaurant and we enjoyed the view for a while longer before going to explore Ericeira with them.

I highly recommend this place!
