We passed by Giverny on the last day of the trip, as this city is only 1 hour away Beauvais, from where we caught the flight back home.
You can also do a day trip from Paris, because it is also 1 hour away. Just look at the map (2h22 is for the Beauvais – Paris route, passing through Giverny):
This city is known for being the place where the famous painter Claude Monet chose to live there after falling in love with it on a train trip. In 1883 he bought a house and land next to it to create the gardens he had wanted to paint. He lived in this house for almost 40 years until he died. The gardens are very beautiful, but they didn't impress me as much as the gardens at Villandry Castle. Oh! We didn't buy the tickets in advance (10.20 euros per person) and we had to wait in a long line to do so. I think this attraction might be less crowded during the week, so if you go on the weekend like us, I recommend it. buy online. Look at some photos:
