After almost 4 hours of traveling from Grenade (read about our trip there here), here we are in Toledo. I found the city to be beautiful and as it is very close to Madrid (only half an hour), I recommend it to anyone visiting the Spanish capital.
PS: I'll post some photos so you'll be interested soon...lol
We picked up a map at the city's tourist center and off we went to the main attractions. We first stopped at Mosque of Christ of the Light, which is the only one of the 10 mosques from the Moorish era that remains intact to this day.
From there, we passed through Sun Gate and we walked to the Bisagra Gate, from 1550. Both are beautiful!
We returned to the tourist center of the city and when we arrived at Toledo Cathedral, we came across a super exciting concert outside! What luck, huh? After some time listening to the music, we entered the cathedral and loved it! It is truly impressive. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Just look:
We were able to quickly enter the Transit Synagogue, which was the last synagogue built in the city, from the 14th century. It's also beautiful. In fact, the entire Jewish quarter is very interesting. In fact, the entire city is. 🙂
We left there happy with what we saw and in less than 40 minutes we were arriving in Madrid and returning the car.
