On October 24, 2021, we woke up with no plans and I thought about doing something different to enjoy the super nice sunny day. I called Quinta Magoito Donkeys, which is very close to our house and which had been on our list to visit for a long time, and I managed to schedule a family program for the end of the day, at 5 pm.
We followed the instructions given by the gentleman who answered our call and set the GPS to Entry 3 indicated in the Contacts section of the website. I must admit that when we arrived at the place, we were a little disappointed with what we saw, because from the photos on the website we imagined a bigger and more interesting place, but we still went in excited. In fact, it was just me and Paddy, because Juju slept in the car with her father. Holy nap! 🙂
The 1-hour family program (20 euros)
We started the ride by walking around in circles with Diniz the donkey and my son wasn't very excited...lol. I don't know if it was because he was scared, because he had just woken up from his nap or because he is really shy, but I was really excited for him. Then we went on the ride on Juliet the donkey and lastly, on Romeo the pony. The latter was more tense because it sways more, so I had to hold on to it so it wouldn't fall.
We continued to see the other animals that live in their small pens, but Paddy really kept an eye on the plastic toys that are nearby for the space's birthday parties.
We started with chickens, roosters, ducks and turkeys. I found it interesting how there is a chicken in Japan that doesn't have feathers, but rather fur!
Afterwards we went to see the rabbits and took the opportunity to hold one of the cuties for a while.
Then the guy who was guiding us offered us food to give to the following animals: goats, pig and sheep. Patrick liked the pig the most, which interacted less with us. Is that possible? 🙂
The whole experience at Burros do Magoito lasted approximately 1 hour, exactly the time I had booked over the phone. We paid 20 euros for Patrick and we adults paid nothing. There is also another option of paying 40 euros and staying there for 2 hours, also riding in a horse-drawn carriage, but I'll leave that one for you to explore. 😉
