1 day in Tarifa, Gibraltar and Marbella

Wednesday (02/18/2015)

We left from Vejer from the Border still in the morning (find out more about our tour there here)and we hit the road towards Round, stopping at the places on the map below:

vejer a marbela

Since we could see the sea from our house in Vejer, we thought it wouldn't hurt to take a quick stroll there. We thought the water was quite clear, but with the wind and the freezing temperature of the water, it was only a 5-minute stop.

We continued driving to Tariff, which is the southernmost point in Europe and also the place where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic.

Tariff

We parked the car on a little street very close to where the sea meets the ocean and braved the bizarre wind to take photos and enjoy a car crossing the bridge. Very cool!!!

We wanted to cross it with our car too, but there was a big sign saying that only authorized cars could pass.

We entered the restaurant The Chiringuito, which is right next to this bridge and has a nice view with its glass doors. I thought the place was super cool and the food was delicious.

Gibraltar from afar

We continue our journey to Gibraltar, or rather, to the city from where we could see the English peninsula. This peninsula has just over 30 thousand inhabitants and has been part of the United Kingdom since 1713. We didn't get to go there because we were short on time, but we passed by cars adapted for English traffic.

I think it must be really crazy to leave there with your adapted car and travel around Europe without having to drive on the left. I thought the view from the rock was really cool, but I think it must be even better on sunny days!

Marbella

We stopped quickly at Marbella, which is a beach town in Sun Coast in Spain, completely taken over by the English...lol. I found the waterfront really cool with its modern buildings, promenade and trees.

After a 1-hour walk along the shore, we finally headed to our last stop of the day: Round!
